This site has been built to help our team share our research on cyanobacteria (toxic algae) in Washington with our community. This site encompasses the topic of cyanobacteria, its impacts on the ecosystem and community, research we have done, our solutions for reducing cyanobacteria bloom, and more. Thanks for checking it out!

We're The Olympians, a FIRST Lego League Team from Bellevue, WA made up of 5 members. We are the Washington state FIRST Lego League champions, and we are representing Washington in the international World Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, in mid-April.
Three of our members are new to this program while two have three years of experience apiece. These two team members have participated in a variety of competitions, won several awards, and even gone to a national competition. We've spent 8 months researching our project topic, cyanobacteria, and we've had a lot of fun with it. Through our research we've gotten to talk to many climatologists (such as Philip Mote, the Al Gore of Washington) and we've learned all sorts of cool things. We're really excited (and also a little nervous!) about the upcoming competition, and we'd like to thank you for coming to our website to learn about cyanobacteria.
Send us your thoughts in an email at the-olympian-5@googlegroups.com!
